2020 ISES Annual Meeting

September 20 – 24, 2020

Oakland, California

Oakland Convention Center

COVID-19 Updates and Resources

ISES is actively monitoring the rapidly-changing conditions regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, and following the guidance of respective governments and health authorities (e.g., Centers for Disease Control (CDC), World Health Organization (WHO) as well as those of our partners and leaders in the travel and event industry.

ISES is committed to supporting the exposure science community, and we are continuing to execute our plan for ISES Annual Meeting in September. Currently, our ISES 2020 dates and venue remain unchanged and we expect the annual conference to take place as planned. However, our first concern is, of course, the health and well-being of our community. As more information becomes available, we will communicate with registrants and members if any circumstances change.

If you have additional questions you can contact us at info@ises2020ca.org or visit http://ises2020ca.org/ for up-to-date information.

Travel Award

The ISES 2020 Annual Meeting will be inclusive to scientists from around the world and members of under-represented groups. To support this goal, ISES 2020 will provide three categories of travel awards for attendees. These include:

  • ISES Student and New Researcher Travel Award
  • ISES Developing Country Travel Award
  • ISES Diversity Travel Award (under-represented groups)
Classification of developing/developed countries and definition of under-represented groups can be found in the travel application form.
Eligibility criteria include being or becoming an ISES member and presenting findings from a submitted abstract. Selection criteria include quality of abstract, diversity, financial need, and contributions to exposure science.

Travel awards will cover part, but not all, of meeting expenses. Awards will be issued as reimbursements (not provided in advance) to partially cover some of the conference expenses (registration, accommodation, etc). In order to facilitate connections to other researchers and the society, awardees may be asked to attend certain welcoming events for travel award winners and/or membership meetings during the conference. Questions can be sent to isesdiversity@gmail.com.

Please submit your travel award application using the online application form (Google form) by May 18, 2020, at 11:59 PM EST. If you do not have access to Google, please download the application form and submit it to isesdiversity@gmail.com by the April 17, 2020 deadline. You will receive a receipt confirmation within 48 hours. You will be informed by e-mail when awardees are chosen by the joint conference Awards Committee by mid May 2020.
